Private Sector Whistleblowers
Employees of private companies are protected from being terminated or retaliated against because they object or refuse to participate in their employer’s illegal activities. If you know your company is breaking the law, you should contact the Firm to discuss the best way to confront your employer and to protect your rights. If you have been terminated, we can help you get money for your lost income and possibly even reinstated.
Publicly Traded Sector Whistleblowers
Employees of publicly traded corporations have additional protections for reporting corporate fraud and abuse. These laws do not just protect employees of the publicly traded companies, but they also protect employees of private companies that service the publicly traded companies, such as accounting and law firms.
Public/Government Whistleblowers
Florida law protects employees who come forward to report misconduct or mismanagement of public agencies and public treasuries. State, county and municipal employees are encouraged to make their government more efficient and to avoid wasting the public’s money.
If you believe your government employer is wasting money or is being grossly mismanaged, please contact the Firm to discuss how can we help you. If you have already been terminated, demoted or denied a promotion because of your whistleblowing activity, contact the Firm to discuss we can help remedy the problem.
False Claims / Qui Tam
Many government contactors or other institutions who received government money (such as a construction company or a medical center) submit inflated, false or fraudulent bills to the government knowing that the government will likely just pay the bill without digging deeper. Federal and state law allows anyone with knowledge of the illegal activity to sue the institution to recover the amount of money fraudulently paid by the government.
Airline Employees
The airline industry is one of the few industries that has a specific federal statute that protections whistleblowers, commonly known as AIR-21. The Firm has experience representing airline employees who blow the whistle on safety and other law violations.
